The MACG track near Graz hosted two events recently. Firstly, the second round of the Electric Nationals, and then the Nitro Nationals second round the following weekend.
Our MAV drivers had great results at both events. We especially congratulate Simeon Seis, who TQ'd and WON the 17.5 Class at the electric event! Matyas Knopp had a great result with 4th overall in Modified, and Michael Seis made the A Final in 17.5 and finished in 9th place. At the Nitro nationals, Adam Rajnis took fourth place and Matej Cermak fifth, in the 1/10 Scale Class. This also took then to second and third in the junior ranking! Over in 1/8 Scale, Simon Cermak made the podium with a brilliant third place (also top junior!), and Radovan Konopik finished in eighth place. Well done to all our drivers and thank you for representing us at the events!

The first round of the 2024 Austrian Nationals for the Electric on-road classes took place at the famous Wiener Neustadt track. Our young MAV drivers had some brilliant results.
In the 17.5 Touring Car class, our star Simeon Seis qualified fourth overall, and backed that up with fourth place in the A Final. In Modified Touring Car, our new driver Matyas Knopp put his car fourth on the grid, and also held on to finish fourht in the finals. A great start to the 2024 season - well done Simeon and Matyas! As many of you know, the famous Fiorano track closed at the end of 2022, due to increasing costs and difficulties with the local government.
Fiorano has always been very special to us at MAV-Aigen Schlägl - we have driven there many times, and the Gesualdi family provided a lot of support and information when we first built our track in Austria. This friendship is very important to us, and you can even see the sign to Fiorano at the entrance of our track! So we are very happy to hear the news that Fiorano has found a new way forward, and excited that our friend Pietro will lead the circuit as it re-opens from October 2023. The whole MAV crew wish Pietro and his team all the best for the new start at the track, and we will see you soon! Our driver Simeon Seis won his first ever round of the Austrian National Championship this week at the RCR-Linz track. The youngster set the overall TQ in the 17.5 Class, and then held on through the three finals to take the overall victory! Just to wrap things up, he also set the fastest lap time of the class as well!
We want to send big congratulations to Simeon, and it's very well deserved! This also means that Simeon finished second overall in the National Championship standings for 2023, as well as being the top Junior! What a great result, and now to look forward to waht 2024 can bring. Now the dust has settled from an amazing ETS - Euro Touring Series event at our track, we need to recognise the success of our driver Simeon Seis. In the Stock 21.5 class, he qualified in 10th place and directly in the A-Final. In the finals, he drove brilliantly to come home with 7th place overall! What a great event for Simeon and all our MAV team!
Our young driver, Simeon Seis, scored a great third place overall at Round 3 of the Austrian Nationals, held in Klagenfurt. Putting his MAV-backed car fourth on the grid in the 17.5t class, Seis then had some great races in the finals to take third overall and get onto the podium! With this result he was also the top Junior driver! Now we look forward to seeing him race against the best in Europe when the ETS comes to our track in Aigen later this month.
Our MAV driver Rudolf Grahamer at the German National race for 1:5 and 1:8 Bikes. Driving in the Nitro-Bike class, Grahamer qualified fourth overall against a stacked field, and in the finals moved up to finish third overall and make it to the podium! Great job!
Our MAV driver Christoph Rohrmoser has taken the win at Round 2 of the Austrian National Championship in the 1/10th Nitro class. The event took place at SFMAV near Salzburg, and Christoph could dominate the 45 minute final to win by over a lap!
Big congratulations to Christoph on another victory, and thank you for continuing to be a great representative for our track and club! The Warm-Up race for the RC Bike World Championship was held at our track at the beginning of June.
It was great to have many drivers returning again after we hosted the event in 2019, and also lots of new faces! A special thanks to Davide from Australia, and Jonathan and Andrew from Singapore who had very long travels to reach us in Austria! In Superbike, it was Fabio Tosti who took the pole position, with Cristian Fabbiano very close through qualifying, and Michele Repetati making it three Italian pilots at the front of the grid! Tosti won the first final, then Repetati won the second final, but Tosti took control in the third final to be the overall winner. Repetati was second overall, with Fabbiano third. Christoph Gaudard (Switzerland) and Bernhard Renner (Austria) made up the top five. In Stockbike, Marco Giovannini (Italy) was the pole sitter, and took the overall win in the finals too. Beat Walti (Switzerland) finished second overall, with Luca Giovannini (Italy) rounding out the podium places. Vojin Pantovic (Serbia) was fourth and Jonathan Wee (Singapore) was fifth overall. In Nitrobike, Australian Davide Varricchio took the pole position, but in the 30-minute final it was Klaus Steinhubl (Germany) who took the win, with Martin Hahn (Germany) second, and Varricchio finishing up in third. We look forward to the big event now!
